Length of time a 6-month-old kitten survived under midtown Manhattan. The feline, named Georgia, had scampered out of her carrier on a subway platform on her way home from a veterinarian visit. Police reunited her with owner Ashley Phillips, a 24-year-old librarian in New York. After hearing that the black cat might have been spotted below Lexington Avenue and East 55th Street, two track workers went through the area making “meow” sounds. Georgia responded.
