Porchlight Music Theatre has announced its 2007-08 season. Artistic director L. Walter Stearns will direct “Candide” and “Pacific Overtures ” — as well as “Once on This Island,” with a director still to be announced. … Next Theatre of Evanston has announced part of its 2008-09 season. Kimberly Senior will direct “The Overwhelming” by J.T. Rodgers; Jason Loewith will direct David Farr’s “The UN Inspector,” in a new American version completed with the help of writer James Sherman. … Tickets to “Dirty Dancing,” which opens this fall at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, are now on pre-sale to American Express card-holders. … Tiffany Carter is the new managing director of the Shattered Globe Theatre. Carter had recently been in Los Angeles, working in theater and film.
