The mystery’s solved: Fred Armisen is the new “Fauxbama” on “Saturday Night Live.”

“SNL” regular Armisen, formerly of Chicago, played Sen. Barack Obama in a sketch parodying last week’s presidential debate. In the spoof, journalists fawned over Obama while bashing Amy Poehler’s Hillary Clinton.

The “SNL” episode, the first since the writers’ strike ended, scored the show’s highest overnight rating in two years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
