Local no-kill shelter Chicago Canine Rescue Foundation (2227 W. Belmont Ave.) recently took in about a dozen ill puppies, racking up $10,000 in medical expenses. Help offset the cost and do a pooch good from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday at Joe’s Bar (940 W. Weed St.) For $25, enjoy an open bar for three hours. More than half the money benefits the shelter.
