Volunteers

*Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn is seeking new members for its volunteer department. Volunteers are needed between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. There are opportunities in a variety of areas, including guest services, emergency, mission and spiritual care, mail delivery, non-direct patient care and clerical work. *Cutrone Hair will hold a head-shaving event to benefit St. Baldrick’s Foundation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 3118 W. 111th St. in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood of Chicago. Volunteers will shave their heads in return for pledges of financial support from friends and family to help raise money for childhood cancer research. For additional information, call 773-881-1685.

Fundraisers

*Clusters, a not-for-profit club that assists mothers of twins and triplets, will hold its spring and summer clothing sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Tinley Park High School, 6111 W. 175th St. More than 90 sellers will be on hand selling gently used children’s clothing. *The Aquinas Catholic Academy will hold a breakfast buffet from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 186 S. Indiana Ave. in Kankakee. *The Band Boosters of Minooka High School will hold their 17th annual craft fair and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the gymnasium of the school at 301 S. Wabena Ave. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Admission is $1 for adults. Children attend free. All proceeds will help fund the band’s annual summer camp. Those making a difference

*Students at George Patton School in Riverdale recently participated in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program. Over a three-week period, students and staff were able to raise more than $1,000 for research and patient services. More than $375,000 was raised in 2007 thanks to the contributions of Illinois middle and high schools.
