‘Babel’

7 p.m., Showtime

Nominated in almost every major Academy Award cataegory, this critically acclaimed 2006 drama won only one — for its score. Brad Pitt (right, shown with Cate Blanchett) stars in the Morocco segment about a vacationing couple whose lives are turned into a living hell when the wife is accidentally shot with an illegal gun. The rifle, escalating political tensions and her possible death have far-reaching consequences. Rinko Kikuchi and Adriana Barraza also star.

‘A Fistful of Dollars’

7 p.m., TCM

While he was playing a TV cowboy on the series “Rawhide,” Clint Eastwood used a hiatus period to go overseas and work with director Sergio Leone on this 1964 spaghetti Western, a remake of the Japanese classic “Yojimbo” that changed the course of Eastwood’s career. He became an international superstar as the quiet and deadly Man With No Name, who positions his poncho between two warring families. Marianne Koch co-stars.

‘Mickey Blue Eyes’

8 p.m., Bravo

Watching Hugh Grant trying to say a proper “Fuhgedaboudit” is comedy gold. He plays a British auctioneer who romances a woman (Jeanne Tripplehorn) from an organized-crime family and finds himself on the receiving end of some offers he can’t refuse. James Caan and Burt Young also star in this 1999 romantic comedy with a side of mobster mash.

‘Clinically Wild: Alaska’

8:30 p.m., Animal Planet

Dr. Kesting treats a wounded cat that had been “home-treated” with duct tape and Dr. Doty examines a stubborn great horned owl.

‘Battle 360: Vengeance at Midway’

An American aircraft carrier fleet turns the tide of World War II in the Pacific by defeating the Japanese Imperial Navy in 1942 at Midway in one of the greatest naval battles in history.
