MISTRIAL: A federal judge declared a mistrial Friday in the case of a U.S. Border Patrol agent charged with fatally shooting an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Jurors who had been deliberating the fate of Nicholas Corbett since Tuesday told the judge they were hopelessly deadlocked.

DEADLY FIRE: A fire roared through a two-story house in Portsmouth, Ohio, early Friday, killing a woman and her three children, while a passerby helped rescue others from the flames, officials said. The home was not equipped with smoke detectors, a fire marshal spokesman said.

DRUG WARNING: Drugmaker Amgen Inc. said it expanded black box warnings about risks of death and tumor growth of its blockbuster anemia drugs. The changes apply to Amgen’s Aranesp and Epogen, as well as Johnson & Johnson’s Procrit.

MISSING GI: More than a half-century after Army Pvt. Joseph Meyer Jr. disappeared while fighting in the Korean War, the Army has told his family his remains will be coming home. Meyer’s remains were found with no identification in a mass grave in North Korea. He will be buried with full military honors.
