1. SWITCHED ON
The modern, colorful On/Off alarm clock by designer Nina Tolstrup looks like a giant light switch for good reason: Tilt the LCD display end off the table, and the alarm shuts off. Easy to snooze, and easy on the eyes.
Cost: $37.

2. CROCODILE CLOCK
We can’t resist the sheer swank of mock croc. It works for our favorite 4-inch heels, so why not add a little to the nightstand? Waking up to this little number would make us feel posh. And just a little bit dangerous.
Cost: $145.

3. TINY TRAVELER
The Marquis travel alarm by Bulova is so sleek and silver, we could imagine it next to James Bond’s bed. Just slip it in your suitcase and take a little style on the road.
Cost: $49.95.

4. MOONGLOW
Big Ben’s Moon Beam clock (which comes in five cute colors including green and pink) has earned its retro-modern look: It was first introduced in 1952. It won us over because it uses soft (and blessedly silent) light to pry open your peepers at first, then rings a bell if your head’s still on the pillow. How civilized.
Cost: $39.50.

5. SWELL BLOCKS
You can rearrange the numbers in designer Jonas Damon’s Untitled clock any way you like, which makes it one part alarm, one part sculpture. On a minimalist night table, it’d be the perfect techie toy.
Cost: $88.
