*Volunteers are needed 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Saturday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. There are opportunities in a variety of areas, including guest services, emergency, mission and spiritual care, mail delivery, non-direct patient care and clerical work. *Nominations are being accepted for two annual community service awards, one for 2008 Prairie State College graduates and one for members of the community. FUNDRAISERS
*The annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Alvernia Manor Retirement Community, 13950 Main St., Lemont. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Call 630-257-7721.
*The annual Candlelight Bowl fundraiser for the South Suburban Family Shelter will be held at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Orland Bowl, 8601 W. 159th St., Orland Park. Registration begins at 8:45 p.m. Admission is $50 per couple and includes four games of bowling, shoe rental and dinner. All proceeds will go to the shelter’s counseling program, which assists domestic-violence victims and their children. Call 708-798-7737.
