If you watch MTV’s “The Hills,” you know by now that Lauren Conrad is an aspiring fashion designer. And if you don’t watch “The Hills” but pick up a magazine every once in a while … you know by now that Lauren Conrad is an aspiring fashion designer.
That’s because LC considers the show a temporary living and her interest in fashion a career.
“I kinda like that it’s separate,” Conrad told The Associated Press after putting on a show for her label Tuesday at Mercedes-Benz L.A. Fashion Week. “It’s not something that I really want to be part of a reality television show. It’s a career I want beyond my 15 minutes.”
So how did her big L.A. fashion show go?
“I didn’t really get to see it,” she told the AP. “I was busy getting them all ready backstage.”
That’s our LC — always ready with an amazing quote. Maybe you, too, want to express yourself but sometimes struggle to find the right words. If so, then your days of wrestling with your thoughts are over. Here now, RedEye presents: The Quotable Lauren Conrad.*
ON KEEPING IT REAL
“People can sit back and say it’s real, it’s fake, but at the end of the day to me this is real because this is my life.” [Admits that MTV sometimes stages things that happened in reality and films them for the show.] “They only set that up because it was happening off-camera. They just wanted to put us in that same situation and see how we reacted because they didn’t have it on camera.” (December 2007)
ON JOB SATISFACTION
“Honestly, I can’t tell you [what I’m doing next for a job] because I haven’t decided yet. I’m looking … I really like working backstage at fashion shows, so I’m looking kind of in production … I love it. It’s, like, the most amazing high. It’s, like, the best feeling.” (January 2008)
ON KEEPING COMMITMENTS
“I actually came dangerously close to not doing Season 3, because I really didn’t want to do the show with Heidi [Montag] and Spencer [Pratt].” (September 2007)
ON CONFLICT RESOLUTION
“It was really hard for you to apologize and I understand that and I really do appreciate it. But the only thing really that there is to do is to forgive and forget. So I really do — I want to forgive you, and I want to forget you.” (November 2007)
ON BEING AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN
(To friend Audrina Patridge:) “Will you be my Valentine? I think every single girl dreads Valentine’s Day. We’ll probably make it fun and come out to Vegas.” (January 2008)
ON REACTING PROPERLY TO THE NEWS THAT YOUR EX IS SEEING SOMEONE NEW
“He has a girlfriend?!” (March 2008)
ON MORALITY
“I would expect this from someone I didn’t know but not my oldest friend. It’s just kind of code, Jen, that you don’t hook up with people that your friends hung out with or dated.” (February 2007)
