To shop
Shop pop at kidrobot.com, a site devoted to limited edition artistic toys and similarly inspired apparel. Toys start as low as $2.95, and many become collectors items over time.
To dust
Apparently laziness is the mother of invention. The Slipper Genie, a comfortable pair of knocking-around kicks, is equipped with mop fibers on the sole so you can mop and dust while you walk. Available for $9.95 at solutions.com.
To bid
Plan to Bike the Drive on May 25? Bid on eBay for rider Nos. 1 and 2 or bid to select your own number at bikethedrive.org/auctions.html. Proceeds benefit the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation; auction ends March 28.
Make a film
Aspiring filmmakers, take note. Dell computers and Paste magazine seek indie auteurs for their “Frame of Reference” film contest. Visit delllounge.com/screens/for/challenge to search the list of inspirations (style, motif, and song) for the three- to five-minute film. The three finalists win $25,000, a Dell desktop computer and a trip to the Telluride Film Festival, where the movies will be screened. Deadline is April 4.
