Fabolous wants his own “American Gangster.”
It’s not that the “Into You” rapper is looking to rip off Jay-Z — it’s just that he says he’s found a movie that inspires him in the same way, he told mtv.com.
“What Jay-Z did … That’s what I want to do. I don’t want to say that I’m actually the [main movie] character, but take some of his scenarios or some things I went through and tell it in my tone,” he said.
Fab wouldn’t name the movie, but he says he thinks he’ll be able to record his album faster now that he’s watched the movie and has “some things that stuck out in my head.” A first single is expected in May.
