“American Idol” is down to the Final Four.
Brooke White was kicked off the show Wednesday night, prompting the often-emotional White to burst into tears. She barely made it through her exit song before croaking “thank you” and turning her back to the audience.
Syesha Mercado narrowly escaped White’s fate and survived to perform one more week.
Before the results show, another story was unfolding. After judge Paula Abdul’s odd behavior Tuesday night, there were rumors online that she was drunk or had seen the performers before the live show during dress rehearsal.
Early during the “Idol” broadcast, Ryan Seacrest addressed the “rumors.” “They’re not true,” he said. “She’s part of our family, and we love her.” (Co-judge Simon Cowell gave her a hug and a kiss.)
