Chien-Ming Wang became the AL’s first six-game winner and the Yankees improved to 27-7 when he starts following a loss, winning 11 in a row. Wang improved to 7-0 vs. Seattle in seven starts.

Pat Burrell hit a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting the Phillies over the Giants 6-5. He hit a 3-2 pitch into the left-field seats, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
