Sunday might be a day of rest for most people, but for photographer Stacey Wescott, it is the middle of the workweek–and not because, in a phrase that bears repetition on this holiday, a mother’s work is never done.

Life can be a crazy balancing act, and Stacey is on the high wire, shooting her distinctive photos for our weekly “Sunday” photograph feature. For the last year, Stacey has taken us to trailer parks in Geneva, a hot-air balloon across Lisle, and to meet dairy farmers in Hampshire. “I try to bring a sense of adventure to out-of-the-way places,” explains Stacey. “I hope to share the stories of everyday people who are out and about on Sundays doing unusual things -and hope my photos have elements of humor and beauty.”

“Finding life off the beaten track is Stacey’s specialty,” says Magazine photography editor Michael Zajakowski. “With each Sunday photo, Stacey aims to tell a short story. And she gravitates toward subjects that get little attention elsewhere.”

Stacey enjoys working weekends so that she can divide child care with her husband, Brian, and spend more time with her two little girls, Sophia, 6, and Tessa, 3. She does look forward to Sundays, though. “Sundays are a time when I can return to my old self,” says Stacey. “I am just an explorer looking for someone else’s story and leaving my own reality behind.”
