Carrie Underwood has a new gig after being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night.

The “American Idol” winner joined the cast of the radio show, which is the longest continuously running program of its kind in the U.S. Garth Brooks handled her formal induction, The Associated Press reported, presenting her with a 14-inch bronze replica of an Opry mic stand. Vince Gill sang a duet with her.

“This really seems like a great family to be part of,” an emotional Underwood said. “I promise I’ll do everything I possibly can to not make you regret it.”

Underwood, 25, joins Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley as another young addition to the Opry cast in recent years. And she gets yet another reason to wear a cowboy hat.
