Indy 500 field set
With time running short and Buddy Lazier needing a burst of speed, he asked his old friends for some help Sunday. His crew adjusted the car, Dan Wheldon gave him a pep talk and then Lazier took his No. 91 car back onto the track and bumped his way into the 33-car starting grid for the Indianapolis 500. A.J. Foyt IV and Marty Roth also made the field.
WNBA wants to expand
WNBA President Donna Orender said Sunday the league is looking to add two teams in the next five years. “I’m stunned by the quality and the amount of talent that is not making our league,” Orender said at Madison Square Garden while attending the New York Liberty’s season opener against the Connecticut Sun. “Negotiations are always complex, they don’t happen necessarily exactly like you’d want them, but probably two teams in the next five years.”
