The estimated number of people mentioned in military records that can be searched online, beginning Tuesday. The National Archives and Ancestry.com have worked out an agreement to speed the transfer of historical records to the Web and make an existing military collection free to see during a Memorial Day commemoration from Tuesday through May 31. After May 31, a paid subscription will be required to see them at www.ancestry .com/military.
