An informational meeting for incoming Woodstock North School students and their parents will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Woodstock High School, 501 W. South St. Parents and students will be updated on the transition and orientation process, progress of construction at the school, and athletics and extracurricular activities.

The final band concert of the year will be held for free at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Schaumburg High School, 1100 W. Schaumburg Rd. A reception will follow. The spring choral concert that was set for Monday has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Miller Theater at Buffalo Grove High School, 1100 W. Dundee Rd. The concert will feature an original piece written by Stevenson High School junior Elliott Englander in memory of his friend Corey Diamond, a Buffalo Grove High School student who was killed in a 2006 car crash. The Concert and Symphonic bands will present the annual Senior Honors Band Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A reception will follow. Call 847-718-4159.

ELGIN
The annual golf outing to benefit Einstein Academy will begin at noon June 5 at Whisper Creek Golf Club at Del Webb’s Sun City, 12940 Del Web Blvd., Huntley. The shotgun start will begin at 1 p.m. The cost is $190, or $175 per person per foursome, and includes golf, refreshments on the course, a box lunch, buffet-style dinner, one-hour open bar and an after-dinner awards program. Hole sponsorships and event sponsorships also are available. Proceeds will benefit the private, not-for-profit school for academically talented students. Reservations are due May 30. MT. PROSPECT
The second annual Walk Around the Playground will be held at 10:15 a.m. Friday at Bell Montessori School, 2020 E. Camp McDonald Rd. Students will walk to Burning Bush Park for laps around the park before a picnic lunch. Students are raising money for a new $40,000 playground made of nearly 100 percent recycled materials at the school’s new site in Wheeling.
