Could Billy Corgan finally be bringing the Smashing Pumpkins home to Chicago?
The band — or what’s left of it — announced a series of shows to celebrate its 20th anniversary on its Web site Thursday, but there was no word about whether Chicago would specifically be involved.
“The Smashing Pumpkins will be playing select U.S. cities in August and September of 2008,” the post reads. “No dates or cities have been announced, but expect the band to revisit a few specific places that were missed during the last U.S. tour.”
Chicago, where the band formed, hasn’t been on the Pumpkins’ tour itinerary since Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin revived the band name last year, the Tribune noted. There’s no word on whether all the original members of the band will return for the 20th anniversary shows.

Big daddy
What was that old show called? “Father Knows Best”? Well, Adam Sandler, father of one with another baby on the way, at least knows how to defuse a crisis.
Chatting with Jay Leno on the “Tonight” show this week, Sandler explained that his wife Jackie’s morning sickness — she’s pregnant with the couple’s second child — made their daughter, Sadie, nervous, people.com reports.
So Sandler stepped in: “I had to try to relax my daughter, just saying, ‘Mommy’s not, like, bad sick. She just has something growing in her that’s eventually going shoot out [of] her … and take half your toys.’ “
The result? “She’s better now,” Sandler quipped.

Touched by an Angie
If Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie can stay unmarried, why can’t everyone?
“I think I’m going to stay unmarried and just go for the babies,” porn star Jenna Jameson joked to Us Weekly magazine at a Maxim magazine party Wednesday in L.A. “I’m following in Angelina Jolie’s footsteps.”
Jameson is dating mixed martial arts fighter Tito Ortiz, a relationship she called “so fabulous, like, fantastic.”
She said she won’t be heading down the aisle because of “two failed marriages. [Marriage] is really just a piece of paper.”

Fashionably late
Amy Winehouse (right) arrived at a ceremony to honor songwriters Thursday in London — just in time to see her father pick up her award for her.
Mitch Winehouse accepted the prestigious Ivor Novello award for Amy’s “Love Is a Losing Game” on his daughter’s behalf. Amy Winehouse was late to the event, and arrived “literally as the award was being given to her dad,” her rep told people.com.
Amy later told the BBC she was “very well,” and “very excited and very flattered.” She wore a heart-shaped pin in her hair with the name of her jailed husband Blake on it, according to people.com.
