Russell Martin went 4-for-4 with three RBIs as the Dodgers pulled out a 9-5 win over Mets. Martin had an RBI double in the first inning, a solo homer in the fourth and an RBI single in the eighth.

Bobby Abreu tripled twice and scored all four times he reached base, igniting a Yankees rally past the Twins for a 6-5 win. The Yanks rescued Mike Mussina, who allowed four runs in the first.

Albert Pujols homered for the third time in four games as the Cardinals defeated the Pirates 5-4. Pujols’ 14th homer was a two-run shot to straightaway center in the bottom of the first inning.

Braves third baseman Chipper Jones had a tough night in a 3-2, 11-inning loss to the Reds. Jones went 0-for-5 and botched Brandon Phillips’ grounder, which allowed Jay Bruce to score the winning run.

Mets reliever Aaron Heilman watched his ERA soar to 6.67 after allowing four straight hits without recording an out in the Dodgers’ five-run eighth. Heilman was charged with four runs and the loss.

After starting the season 3-0, the Mariners’ Carlos Silva has been hittable. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning as the Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning. Silva allowed seven hits.
