THREE UP Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury stole two more bases in a 9-0 win over the Reds to give him 33 for the team rookie record set in 1908 by Amby McConnell. Ellsbury also hit his fifth homer.

Ricky Nolasco won for the sixth time in seven decisions and came within one out of his first career complete game as the Marlins beat the Rays 9-3. He added a career-high 12 strikeouts.

David DeJesus hit his first career grand slam and had a career-high five RBIs in the Royals’ 8-3 win over the D’backs. It was his second homer in as many days and seventh of the season.

THREE DOWN

Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang had to leave Sunday’s 13-0 rout of the Astros after five innings when he sprained his right foot running the bases. After the game Wang had a soft cast on the foot.

Since winning his 350th game May 10, Greg Maddux is 0-2 after the Padres’ loss Sunday. Maddux made his 52nd career error, which led to a run against the Indians. Maddux has 17 Gold Gloves.

If the Orioles didn’t play on Sundays, they would be really good. They fell for the 10th straight Sunday, 5-4 to the Pirates, and have been outscored by 29 runs since the first Sunday of the year.
