Barrington

The Barrington Career Center will hold its second annual Winner’s Circle fundraiser from 2 to 7 p.m. June 27 at Arlington Park, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights. The event includes lunch buffet and open bar. Post time is 2:30 p.m. There also will be a cash raffle and silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the career center, a not-for-profit agency assisting job seekers. Admission is $100, $75 for youths 12 to 20 and $50 for children 4 to 11. Crystal Lake

*A send-off party for 10-year-old Marisa Monbrod’s mission trip to the Appalachian Dream Center in West Virginia will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Dole Mansion, 401 Country Club Rd. Monbrod was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and is now in remission. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Monbrod will travel with her family to bring donations she has collected over the last few months to impoverished families served by the Dream Center. Donations of cash, Bibles, backpacks, toys, games, pillows, blankets, hygiene products and other items may be dropped off at the event or at American Community Bank, 381 S. Main St.

Island Lake

*The fifth annual Danielle Miller Memorial volleyball tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sideout’s Bar and Grill, 4018 Roberts Rd. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. There will be music, raffles, T-shirts and contests with free prizes. Food and beverages also will be available. The cost is $150 per team. Proceeds will benefit scholarships in Miller’s name at Woodstock High School, where Miller played volleyball and graduated. *The county’s Conservation District is seeking volunteers for its annual Trail of History, a living history event portraying life from 1670 to 1850 in the Northwest Territory. Orientations for volunteers will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday in Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Rd., Crystal Lake; and 7 to 8 p.m. June 26 in Wiedrich Education Center at Glacial Park, 6316 Harts Rd., Ringwood.
