John Parrish made his first start since 2004 and earned his first win since May 19, 2007 in the Jays’ 9-5 victory over the Braves. Parrish, called up Friday, allowed one run, four hits in six innings.
Manny Parra gave up just two hits in seven innings to pick up his sixth straight win as the Brewers beat the Twins 5-1. Parra improved to 8-2 and the Brewers have won nine of their last 12.
Andy Pettitte won his sixth straight decision in the Yankees’ 3-2 win over the Mets. Pettitte went six innings allowing only two solo homers. He’s 6-0 with a 3.54 ERA since last losing May 17.
THREE DOWN
Indians first baseman Ryan Garko was hitless in four at-bats, struck out and stranded seven baserunners in a 5-0 loss to the Reds. Garko is hitless in his last 16 at-bats and hitting .242 for the year.
Brian Fuentes gave up a game-winning two-run double for his fourth blown save of the season in the Rockies’ 7-6 loss to the Tigers. The Rockies have lost six straight for the third time this season.
Manny Delcarmen gave up three runs and three hits, including a home run, in the eighth inning in the Red Sox’s 11-10 loss to the Astros. Delcarmen was charged with his second blown save this year.
