FERRY DISASTER: Myanmar state media reported Friday that a ferry sank in the Yway River, leaving 38 people dead. The New Light of Myanmar newspaper said the 44 others aboard were rescued in the disaster Tuesday.
FOILED AGAIN: Indonesian police arrested 10 suspected Muslim militants and seized a large cache of bombs, foiling a major attack targeting Westerners in Jakarta, police and media reported. Among them was a Singaporean who met with Osama bin Laden, police said.
