Arlington Heights

*Research for Rosie will hold its first annual Under the Big Top carnival to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Arlington Heights and Central Roads. Wristbands are $10 for unlimited games, or 50 cents a ticket. All food items cost $1 or two tickets. A raffle will also be held; tickets cost $2. Donations of food and drinks are also being accepted. Hoffman Estates

*A bowl-a-thon to benefit the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Elk Grove-Schaumburg will be held at 6 p.m. July 19 at Poplar Creek Bowl, 2354 Higgins Rd. The cost is $35 for adults and $20 for kids and includes three games of bowling, shoe rental and dinner. Dinner only costs $25. *The ninth annual Megan Cooper memorial golf outing to benefit leukemia research will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at RedTail Golf Course, 7900 RedTail Drive. Tickets cost $100 per person and include golf, lunch and an awards ceremony.
