Firefighters inspect debris discarded after a fire burned a third of the roof of Briar Glen Elementary School on Friday and caused smoke and water damage to the building’s interior. Officials said the fire was caused by a roofing crew that accidentally spilled gas. Administrators questioned whether the school would open in time for classes Aug. 27.
