1947: Jackie Robinson stole home for first time in MLB career in Brooklyn’s 4-2 win over Pittsburgh on July 24
1983: The “Pine Tar” homer was hit by Royals’ George Brett off New York pitcher Rich Gossage at Yankee Stadium. Brett’s homer was ruled an out because the amount of pine tar exceeded what was allowed. After protest by KC, the final out and Yankees’ half of 9th was completed on Aug. 18.
