For the 14th year in a row, Lexus ranked No. 1 in J.D. Power and Associates’ annual Vehicle Dependability Study.
The study measures the number of problems experienced in 3-year-old vehicles, so the cars in the study were 2005 models. The study, which ranked 38 vehicle brands, found that car owners on average experience 75 percent more problems in the third year of ownership than during the first 90 days of owning the car.
The Lexus, with 120 problems, had far fewer problems after three years than the industry average of 206.
