The prosecution and defense wrapped up their cases Friday in closing out Canada’s first trial stemming from an alleged homegrown plot by Islamic militants to storm Parliament and bomb buildings. The judge said he would deliver his verdict Sept. 25.
Defense lawyer Mitchell Chernovsky argued the accused knew nothing about the alleged plot. Prosecutors asserted the defendant was a willing participant in the conspiracy.
