All-Star second baseman Ian Kinsler was placed on the 15-day DL with a sports hernia, and could be headed for season-ending surgery. He leads the majors with 165 hits and 102 runs.

Ace Justin Duchscherer left Monday’s game vs. the Twins with right hip pain. He had season-ending surgery on the same hip last season and will fly back to Oakland on Tuesday for more tests.
