It looked as if D.L. Hughley was positioning himself for a political seat somewhere, appearing on high-profile TV shows spouting about the current election, and showing some political savvy. Never mind. He riled so many viewers with his blunt and upfront analysis that a run for any office would likely be a short campaign. Hughley knows what stage he should be on. And, he commands it well. On a sadder note, this show will probably have Hughley sharing thoughts and memories of his friend, comedian Bernie Mac, who died last month at the age of 50. That will be funny too; Mac would have insisted.

Why do it now: You’ll laugh and maybe cry a little, as Hughley talks about his fellow Original King of Comedy, Bernie Mac.

When: 8 p.m. Saturday

Where: Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora

Price: $36-$46; 312-559-1212, ticketmaster.com
