THREE UP
The Astros’ Roy Oswalt threw a one-hitter to beat the Rockies 2-0. He struck out six, walked two and hit two batters, giving up only a leadoff single to Brad Hawpe in the fifth inning.
The Blue Jays’ Lyle Overbay hit his 13th and 14th homers, helping Toronto build a 3-0 lead over the Rays. It was the seventh multihomer game of his career and second this season.
The Nationals’ Elijah Dukes had his second career two-homer game in a span of 10 days, hitting line-drive shots into the left-field seats in the second and fourth in an 8-5 win over the Braves.
THREE DOWN
Arizona’s Brandon Webb issued a career-high six walks in a 7-2 loss to the Dodgers, failing in his third attempt to reach 20 wins for the first time. The Diamondbacks have lost nine of their last 12.
Twins’ relievers, who took six of the nine losses on a 14-game road trip that ended last week, blew another in a 6-4 loss to the Tigers. Dennys Reyes and Matt Guerrier each allowed a homer.
The Marlins’ Scott Olsen (6-10) lost his sixth straight decision, 5-3 to St. Louis, allowing five hits and four runs in six innings. He walked three. Olsen last won July 19 against Philadelphia.
