Green polar bears are drawing questions from puzzled visitors at a Japanese zoo. Three normally white polar bears at Higashiyama Zoo changed color in July after swimming in a pond with an overgrowth of algae. After the algae subsides, the color should return to normal.
2. Strange casing
A burglar who broke into a home near Fresno, Calif., on Saturday rubbed spices over the body of one of two men as they slept in their rooms and then used an 8-inch sausage to whack the other man in the face and head before he ran out the house, police said. Lt. Ian Burrimond described the crime as one of the strangest he has ever heard of.
