Salmon starting to show up, biting on spoons, spawn and crankbaits. Best action reported near 39th and 63rd Streets.
Lake Michigan (Lake County)

Shore anglers catching nice kings on casting spoons off South Rocks and Government Pier. Open-water action includes kings and browns biting on flies, dodgers and spoons in 90 to 120 feet of water out of Waukegan.
Lake Michigan (Northwest Indiana)

Kings of up to 17 pounds reported in 60 to 80 feet of water north to northeast of the Michigan City lighthouse. Several kings and some coho have also been seen in area streams. Some small perch reported near Michigan City.
Southeast Wisconsin

A few chinooks caught in Kenosha and Racine harbors, but shore action otherwise remains slow overall from state line through Milwaukee. Kenosha trollers catching some lake trout while Racine trollers report some mature chinooks near the mouth of the Root River. Flasher and fly combos and glow spoons working best for Milwaukee trollers in early morning hours.
Southwest Michigan

Boat anglers near St. Joseph report good chinooks and coho trolling between piers along mud lines. Pier action has included trout and salmon. Some salmon and steelhead action between the piers at South Haven. Boat anglers near Saugatuck finding chinooks off the bottom in waters up to 60 feet deep. Some perch reports off piers. Good numbers of perch had been recently reported near the New Buffalo pumping station, while salmon action was good in 50 feet or more.
Chain O’Lakes

Overall action has slowed with cooler weather, although some bass reported and walleye action picking up in currents due to recent rain. Bass could pick up in late week with warmer temperatures in forecast. Stripers still active in Petite Lake and Lake Marie in 12 feet on fatheads.
Kankakee River

Good smallmouth action near Teresa Island at mouth of the Iroquois River, Kankakee Dam through LeVasseur Park and Rex Island through Gary Island. Also try Wilmington Dam through Bardwell Island. In Indiana, pike hitting at mouths of ditches and bayous on large minnows and other baits.
Fox River (Batavia)

Very good smallmouth and walleye action reported, particularly near North Aurora. Walleye are said to be good-sized and healthy.
