Madden a big hit
EA Sports announced Tuesday it has grossed $133.5 million in retail sales from Madden NFL 09 since its Aug. 12 release. “Madden NFL 09 was the top-selling game of the month, and launched with 2.3 million units out of retail doors in its first month, besting last year’s (Madden NFL 08) title by 2 percent,” NPD’s Anita Frazier told USA Today.
Armstrong gets a tuneup
Lance Armstrong won the Aspen Cycling Club’s 10-mile Smuggler-Hunter Creek mountain bike race Wednesday, one day after announcing his return to the Tour de France. He finished in 57:10, 14 seconds ahead of the second-place rider.
Sapp: Meyer a ‘dirtbag’
Ex-Hurricanes star Warren Sapp still can’t get over Florida’s field goal in the last minute of the 26-3 win over Miami on Saturday, calling Urban Meyer a “classless dirtbag” for the move on Showtime’s Inside the NFL teleconference.
