Who — and what — we’re buzzing about this week.
1. Sex and the City: The high school years
OMG! “Sex and the City” author Candace Bushnell is working on a book series called “The Carrie Diaries,” focusing on Carrie’s high school years. There also has been talk of a “Sex and the City” movie sequel, although nothing is confirmed. So which would you prefer: prequel or sequel?
2. The Cubs
Cubs are NL champs once again. We don’t want to jinx it, so we’ll just say: Go, Cubs go!
3. Tina Fey
Fresh off a killer Sarah Palin impersonation on “SNL,” she takes home three Emmys for “30 Rock,” and lands Oprah as a guest star. Not a bad week.
4. Ugly Betty on ABC
Our favorite wayward fashion magazine assistant is back Thursday night in Season 3 of the hit show. Did we mention that China is debuting the first season of its own “Betty” adaptation, “Ugly Wudi”?
5. Fringe on FOX
J.J. Abrams’ new sci-fi series is up to 13.3 million viewers and has all the makings of a stealth hit.
BUZZKILL
Katie Holmes
Tom Cruise thought Katie Holmes’ Broadway debut was “extraordinary.” Too bad the anti-Scientology protesters stole the show.
