Her fashion philosophy:
“I’m a girly girl, so I like to color-coordinate. I like having a preppy look, and you should sometimes be simple and classy. I’m not the type of girl that likes to wear gym shoes all the time.”
Where she shops:
Rave, Aeropostale, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Discovery Clothing, A. J. Wright and Burlington Coat Factory.
Pulling it all together:
In the photograph, Brown sports blue jeans with yellow flats to match her yellow short-sleeve shirt. She tops it off with a retro-yet-classy red beaded necklace and a thick red belt to go over a brown tank that’s layered over her yellow shirt. Brown said a great way to express herself is through layers of clothing and mixing and matching, which represents the exotic and flamboyant spirit that she projects.
Fall must-have item:
Scarves, stuff in fall colors, boots, jackets and cute hats.
Trend she’s happy to see go:
“I hate the baggy pants and tomboy styles, with the athletic wear.”
What not to wear:
Brown suggests avoiding mixed colors that don’t blend, too much black or too much white. Also, stay away from wearing colors from different seasons at the same time.
Fashion tip
How to wear wide-legged pants:
*Choose pants with a wide, snug-fitting waistband that sits a little below the natural waistline.
*Look for pants with a single pleat. This creates volume below the fitted waistband and gives the pants a definite shape.
*Wear the pants long, with the hems just about a half-inch from the ground.
