Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Name: Trunki

What it is: A lightweight suitcase that your child can carry, tow or ride.

How it works: Made of hard plastic, the Trunki sits on four wheels and is durable enough to hold a toddler or small child whose legs have given out before the long trek through the terminal is complete. (Weight limit is about 100 pounds.) It’s small enough to function as a carry-on, but the 18-by-12 1/2-by-8 dimensions allow for plenty of cargo.

The good: Where do we begin? First, there’s no need to lug a stroller through the airport when your kid can ride on this contraption. Second, the removable strap you use to tug Trunki behind you can also be attached to both sides of the suitcase, allowing you to sling it over your shoulder once the thrill of riding it is gone. And, finally, the plastic is durable enough to survive the checked-baggage experience, should your child, at some point, decide to forgo the adventure altogether.

The bad: Not much. We had a hard time maneuvering the slide buckle clasp on the elastic straps inside the Trunki. But honestly, that just sounds like whining.

Cost: $39.99-$49.99.
