Got a minute? Smart ways to spend an unexpected break in your busy day.
Get to know the next president
Pick an issue you care about (Health care? The environment? Education?) and find out where both presidential candidates stand. Even if you already know whom you’re voting for, log on to johnmccain.com and barackobama.com and familiarize yourself with both sides. One of these guys will be elected president next week and you owe it to yourself to know what that really means for your future.

A Good read
Check out Good magazine ( www.good.is). The altruistic publication on current social issues is a great motivator, and it’s aimed at a cynical set not easily charmed. Not only is their content compelling, timely and useful, but I love their “pick your own price” subscription method. Plus, Good contributes 100 percent of your subscription fee to a non-profit you pick from their site.
