For politically minded people who don’t want to fight the crowds in Grant Park, election-night parties abound. Here are some options Tuesday:
REPUBLICANS
Illinois for McCain and the Chicago Republican Party are hosting a party at English, at 444 N. LaSalle St. 6:30 until it’s over. Free admission and free drinks for the first two hours. (773-235-9467)
The Chicago Young Republicans and Republican Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica are hosting an election-night celebration at the Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan. 6:30-10:30 p.m. Free admission and cash bar. (chicagoyrs.com)
DEMOCRATS
Hyde Park Hair Salon, where Obama has gotten haircuts for the last 14 years, is hosting a huge election-night bash at 8 p.m. at the barbershop, located at 5234 S. Blackstone Ave. Space is limited, $50 tickets include food and drink. (Call 773-493-6028 and ask for Zariff or Kenya.)
