More than 1.48 million Chicagoans are registered to vote in the upcoming election, the highest since 1992, when the city had 1.52 million people registered, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners. Since the primary election in February, 177,833 people have signed up to vote, with registrations coming just days before the registration deadline. There were 83,360 Chicagoans who registered to vote from Oct. 1-7, the deadline for new voter registrations, excluding late-arriving forms. Here’s a breakdown of these last-minute new voters:
