Not so high-risk?
Yes,I know the theme was travel, butis the story of four white, rich, college guys really that important (“Men at mid-life,” Sept. 28)?And with all that money, riding a bull was the best they could come up with?
All four of those “adventures” are pretty darn common.A space flight, that’s an adventure. Hopping a freight across Peru, that’s an adventure. An archeological dig in Iraq, that’s an adventure. This was four privileged college boys outon a weekend.

Walking the walk
I want to let you know how much I appreciate Monica Eng’s article (“Morality bites,” Sept. 21). I always try toteach my family and staff at my restaurant to avoid waste, not only because of food cost, but because we are sacrificing an animal’s life for our meal; we should respect that and remember itin our daily lives.
I am not a vegetarian, and my restaurant is notvegetarian. However, I appreciate that you emphasized that the foodis not “created” in apackage. I believe everyone who consumes meat should read this article.
I am still not surehow the supermarketshandlewaste, but I am only one person, andtry to make sure everyone I deal with gets this message.
