*GOLF : Steve Marino shot a 6-under par 66 to tie Scott Verplank for the lead heading into the final round of the $4.6 million Children’s Miracle Network Classic at Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. … The rain-delayed HSBC Champions tournament will finish Monday, which is just fine with Australian Geoff Ogilvy. Ogilvy’s 7-under 65 in the second round, the best of the day, put him a stroke behind co-leaders Sergio Garcia (68) and Henrik Stenson (69). … Women’s British Open champion Shin Ji-yai shot a bogey-free 6-under 66 to take a two-stroke lead in the Mizuno Classic in Shima, Japan.
*NBA: Nets guard Devin Harris was held out of Saturday night’s game against the Pacers with a sprained left ankle. Harris scored a career-high 38 points in New Jersey’s win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. … Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said he expected guard Tony Parker to miss two to four weeks after spraining his left ankle Friday. X-rays were negative, but Popovich said Parker’s ankle showed plenty of swelling.
*FOOTBALL: Starting cornerback Kelvin Hayden is inactive for the fifth straight game and will not play for the Colts against the Steelers on Sunday. Hayden started the first four games but has not played since Oct. 5 against Houston, when he injured his knee. He was expected to return last week but hurt his hamstring. Other Colts who have been ruled out of Sunday’s game are receiver Roy Hall (knee) and defensive tackle Daniel Muir (hamstring). … The NFL has rescinded a $7,500 fine against Giants defensive end Justin Tuck for a hit on Cowboys quarterback Brooks Bollinger last weekend. … Ryan Phillips returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown as the British Columbia Lions beat the Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders 33-12 in a Canadian Football League West Division semifinal. B.C. advanced to the division final next week at Calgary. A.J. Harris ran for two touchdowns and Fred Perry returned an interception 31 yards for a score to help the Edmonton Eskimos beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 29-21 in an East Division semifinal. Edmonton became the first West Division team to win as a crossover squad since the CFL adopted the formula in 1996. The Eskimos advanced to the East Division final next week at Montreal.
*NHL: Flyers center Danny Briere scored in his first game back in the lineup against Tampa Bay on Saturday night, only two weeks after abdominal surgery. Briere had surgery Oct. 25 to fix a torn abdominal muscle, and doctors expected him to miss three to four weeks.
*TENNIS: Venus Williams advanced to the final of the Sony Ericsson Championships in Doha, Qatar, with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win over top-ranked Jelena Jankovic. Williams will face Vera Zvonareva, who defeated Olympic champion Elena Dementieva 7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-3 in the other semifinal at the WTA Tour’s season-ending event.
*SOCCER: Heather O’Reilly scored in the 72nd minute and the U.S. women’s team beat South Korea 1-0 in an exhibition match in Tampa. … Liverpool and Arsenal returned to winning ways to assert their Premier League title credentials, while Hull lost its third straight match after an impressive start to its debut campaign in the top flight. Robbie Keane scored his first two league goals since joining Liverpool in the off-season in a 3-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion. Samir Nasri also had a double, leading Arsenal to a 2-1 victory over defending champion Manchester United and easing the pressure on manager Arsene Wenger by snapping a three-match winless streak in all competitions.
