*NBA: Tony Parker will miss four weeks after an MRI confirmed that the Spurs’ star guard has a grade 2 left ankle sprain. Parker was injured during a 99-83 loss to the Heat on Friday, driving for a layup in the first quarter when he rolled his ankle. … Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey felt dizzy and lightheaded late in the first half and did not return in an 88-76 loss to the Celtics. … Thunder reserve forward Chris Wilcox left after spraining his right knee in the first quarter of an 89-85 loss to the Hawks.

*HOCKEY: The Wolves tied the game with 32 seconds left in regulation and went on to win their fourth straight with a 3-2 shootout victory at Manchester. Wolves goalie Robert Gherson stopped 30 of 32 shots in the game and denied all four Monarchs attempts in the shootout, while Junior Lessard and Riley Holzapfel scored for the Wolves in the shootout. Left wing Brett Sterling, playing in his second game since being assigned by the Thrashers on Friday, evened the score at 2-2 late in the third period. … The Blue Jackets assigned forward Alexandre Picard to Syracuse of the AHL. … Erica McKenzie beat Charline Labonte in the sixth round of a shootout, and Jessie Vetter stopped Meghan Agosta with a glove save to give the U.S. a 3-2 victory over Canada in the Four Nations Cup final.

*COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Mike Davis scored 18 points off the bench and Demetri McCamey added 16 to lead Illinois to a 62-56 victory over Lewis in exhibition play. Brandon Dagans led Lewis with 18 points and five assists to help keep the Flyers close throughout. … Luke Harangody had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Tory Jackson added 15 points to lead ninth-ranked Notre Dame to a 79-47 win over Stonehill in the Irish’s final exhibition. *SOCCER: Dane Richards had a goal and an assist, and the New York Red Bulls won the Western Conference semifinal series on goal aggregate with a 3-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo. The Red Bulls tied 1-1 with the Dynamo, the two-time defending MLS Cup champions, in the series opener on Nov. 1. New York will play Real Salt Lake for the West title. … Nicolas Anelka scored twice to keep Chelsea at the top of the English Premier League with a 2-0 victory at Blackburn. Anelka deflected home a shot from teammate Jose Bosingwa after 40 minutes and chipped the ball over Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson on Frank Lampard’s pass in the 68th. It was Chelsea’s ninth straight league victory on the road.

*COLLEGE FOOTBALL: North Carolina tight end Zack Pianalto has a broken left leg that will keep him out indefinitely. Pianalto fractured his fibula while making a touchdown catch in Saturday’s 28-7 win against Georgia Tech. North Carolina coach Butch Davis said on Sunday it’s unclear how long Pianalto will be out for the No. 17 Tar Heels, who play at Maryland on Saturday. … Coach Tommy Tuberville said Auburn associate athletic director Virgil Starks has died of a heart attack. The 46-year-old Starks passed away while returning home from Saturday’s football game against Tennessee-Martin.

*POKER: Ivan Demidov owned an 11-million chip lead at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas over Peter Eastgate on Sunday night. Dennis Phillips, from Cottage Hills, Ill., was third. David “Chino” Rheem, Craig Marquis and Kelly Kim were eliminated, leaving six players in contention for the $9.15 million winner’s prize.

*RUNNING: Kenya’s Nicholas Paul Lekuraa set a course record to win the Athens Classic Marathon, outsprinting Julius Seurei Kiprotich in a race tracing the ancient course. The 25-year-old Kiprotich crossed the finish line at the marble Panathenian stadium in 2 hours 12 minutes 42 seconds. Mai Tagami of Japan was the fastest woman in 2:36:58.

*ALSO: Even though he wants to re-sign with the Yankees, left-handed pitcher Andy Pettitte filed for free agency Sunday. … American Olympic champion Shani Davis of Chicago narrowly lost to Stefan Groothuis of the Netherlands in the opening 1,000-meter race of the Speedskating World Cup season in Berlin. Groothuis finished in 1 minute 9.13 seconds, .2 ahead of Davis. Christine Nesbitt of Canada won the women’s 1,000 in the absence of world champion Anni Friesinger of Germany, who had knee surgery and won’t race until December. … Formula One teams have unanimously agreed to reduce engine costs by more than $19 million by 2011, Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo said.
