Kevin McKidd has permanently checked in to “Grey’s Anatomy.” McKidd, who has guest starred as Major Owen Hunt on the ABC series, was hired after the departure of Brooke Smith, People magazine reports. Fans have accused ABC of firing Smith because network execs didn’t like the lesbian story line involving her character, Dr. Erica Hahn.
Maybe ABC liked McKidd more. After all, he’s already got the “Mc” — as in McDreamy and McSteamy.
“I felt sad because she’s obviously a great actress and I felt Owen and her character could have really clashed in an interesting way,” McKidd told the New York Daily News.
