$10,000 reward for gang member

The FBI announced a reward Thursday of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of an alleged high-ranking Chicago gang member. Since September, the Chicago FBI’s joint task force on gangs has conducted a nationwide manhunt for Vicente Garcia, 30, of Bolingbrook, an alleged Latin Kings member. He has black hair, brown eyes, has a tattoo of a crown on his chest and the letters “LK” on the back of his shoulder, the FBI said.

Gun charges dismissed against Peterson

A judge dismissed all felony gun charges against former Bolingbrook Police Sgt. Drew Petersonon Thursday after the prosecution refused to comply with the judge’s order to give the defense internal documents leading up to the charges against Peterson. Peterson was arrested in May for allegedly possessing a modified assault rifle. Authorities seized the rifle, along with other weapons, after search warrants were executed in the investigation into the 2007 disappearance of Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy.

CTA reroute on Mag Mile

CTA buses will be rerouted off North Michigan Avenueon Saturday for the annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Michigan will be closed to traffic in both directions between Oak Street and Randolph Street starting at 5 p.m. and is expected to reopen at about 8 p.m. As a result, several buses will use temporary reroutes, including No.2 King Drive, No. 6 Jackson Park Express, No. 10 Museum of Science and Industry, No. 36 Broadway, No. 66 Chicago, No. 70 Division, No. 124 Navy Pier, No. 145 Wilson/Michigan Express, No. 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express, No. 147 Outer Drive Express and No. 151 Sheridan routes.
