A Bolingbrook woman was conned by someone in Wichita, Kan., who used a fake e-mail address from PayPal to get her to send him a four-carat diamond ring, police said.
The woman, who filed a police report Nov. 8, agreed to sell the ring for $4,500 via craigslist.com using PayPal, said Bolingbrook police spokesman Ken Teppel.
After shipping the item, the woman learned there was no money in the PayPal account, Teppel said.
