Ocho Cinco benched
The Cincinnati Bengals deactivated receiver Chad Ocho Cinco for Thursday night’s game with the Pittsburgh Steelers for violating a team rule. The Bengals did not specify the violation. Meanwhile, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 243 yards and a touchdown to Heath Miller to lead Pittsburgh to a 27-10 victory in front of the hometown crowd.

George Steinbrenner’s 35-year reign as boss of the New York Yankees ended Thursday when he passed control of the team to his youngest son, Hal. Brothers Hal and Hank were appointed co-chairmen in April.

NFL Network ruling delayed
There will be no quick resolution to the NFL’s long-running battle to force Comcast to carry the NFL Network on Comcast’s digital cable package. In an order released Thursday, the FCC pushed back a 60-day timeline to rule on the dispute.
