President-elect Obama is on track to nominate Hillary Clinton as secretary of state after Thanksgiving, an aide to his transition said Thursday.
Army execution
The Army has set a date for its first execution in nearly 50 years. The military said Thursday that former North Carolina soldier Ronald Gray is to be executed Dec. 10 in Terre Haute, Ind. He was convicted of multiple rapes and murders.
Mukasey collapses
Attorney General Michael Mukasey collapsed during a speech Thursday night and lost consciousness, a Justice Department official said. The condition of the 67-year-old was not immediately known. Witnesses said he was mid-speech when he began slurring his words.

Ohio’s government watchdog says an agency director improperly used state computers to find personal information on the man who became known as “Joe the Plumber” during the presidential campaign.
